Body repair page # 5
The passenger side frame fail was removed. The lower control arm bracket had to be cut under the rail to allow the new rail to slide in to place in the frame rail extention. The battery apron was also taken out at this time as there was very little left  of it. Every area that was accessable around the shocktower was blasted and coated with cold galvinizing compound before welded in place. The rail  was positioned so the end was as far from the firewall as the drivers side. This also made the holes in the rail line up with the holes in the lower shocktower holes. The rail was slightly off the floor pan so it was persuaded into contact for welding.
The front lower radiator support was then positioned between the two rails and a hydraulic jack was employed to spead the rails !/4" more open to bring in the front measurement that was attained from the old support. The battery apron and the radiator support were then both put in place and check for fit. When we determined that the fit was good we welded in both apron and radiator support then the remaining aprons and other brackets. Up to this point everything had only been tacked in just in case of a major blunder where everything needed to be moved or removed.
