After the front was completely media blasted,  Bill cleans up all the loose debris that was left.
The metal was first treated in a solution of iron etch 6878 from Martin Senour then Triple Etch 6877also from Martin Senour. They are carried at the local NAPA parts store and they have a terrific web site. See table of contents for Paint information  and links page for web address for Martin Senour
This is the right shock tower after the Triple Etch is applied.
This is a shot of the firewall after etching also.
After the etch and a wash and a very thorough dry the Martin Senour Epoxy Primer is applied to all surfaces. I used 5120 low voc grey primer catalyzed with 5123 catalyst
