Body repair page # 4
We know you were probably expecting more on the front but we decided to show you some of the smaller parts,
you know ....our size.
This is the same part after media blasting
This is the upper a arm before media blasting. The pieces were saveable by a small margin.
The part was then treated with phosphoric acid to finish neutralizing and then zinc phosphated to inhibit rust. Then the piece was top coated with chassis black epoxy based sealer
Note the difference other than the rust. The original has small loops welded to the bottom while the new one has pressed notches. The ball joint is also riveted in the original and welded in the new. The ball joint also has a different appearance.
Lower control arms
The piece on the left was what was left of the front part of the mount. The piece on the right is the complete mount after rebuild with new steel
Front sway bar mount
Front strut support
The end of the strut support had to be cut out because of rot and a new piece butt welded in as a patch. The cut piece is still attached in the picture above connected to the sway bar mount (left piece)
