This and the following pages will take you on a tour of our repair odyssey. As you can see from these initial pictures, the repairs needed were extensive. The car was folding up because of no structual integrity.  Our goal is to have a good quality driver, when we complete this project .

The car I believe (I can not confirm )is a 1966 Sprint Convertible
. It was built in  early July of 1966 and has side ornamentation deleted with pin stripe added, a center console,two speed wipers/washer, C-4 automatic,Power top,Am radio and Chrome air cleaner. This was part of Fords million car sale (or it should have been what do you do with a ton of six cylinder motors  that no one wants sale.

We figure the car lived around Lowell Massachusetts most of it's life from an old registration ,oil change stickers, and the faint wax outline on the windshield that said one owner..
Some repairs had been attempted along the way but most of them pretty poor. There was the light guage sheetmetal that was pop rivited into the torque box rot area,(propably to kept the winter road's salt slush out). and a piece of angle welded to the rotting rocker boxes. There was also the helper springs that were added to the rear to help it down the road a little further.

We can only quess at some aspects of its life. At some point childen were riding around in the backseat (pretty scarry) from the lego's we found under the seat. We also found a registration to a small fishing type boat for New Hampshire for 1979. And at some point the AM radio was swapped for a 1965 AM radio. This owner listen to AM radio. The car (what was left) was totally stock and unaltered with most (99.9%) of the parts still attached. We can only guess that the owner was older and hopefully grew older more gracefully than the car.
