Rear end and springs
The rear end was removed from the car when the frame rails were repaired. The above picture shows the unit before it was neutralized and painted. The pinion seal was also replaced at this time. The unit is a 3.20 :1 conventional

The picture to the right shows the old springs. If you look closely to the end of the leafs, you can see how some have pieces cracked off.

The picture to the right shows the underside preped and painted waiting for the rear to be placed back under the car.

Here the rear is mounted with the new springs and hardware. The U bolts were not tightened to allow aligning of the axle. We did this by running a tape under the car from the front lower ball joint to a fixed position on the axle. We kept tweeking the axle on the spring until the measurements were equal.
